Waialua and Kahuku, while still North Shore, have a very different community profile to North Shore central. Million dollar homes and high incomes are replaced by very old and aging homes, low incomes and, sadly, occasional poverty. Hawaii families, as a whole, need to work harder than just about any other family in America to make ends meet.
