The North Shore also offers private home vacation rentals and condominium rentals. An internet search on North Shore realtors is your starting point for private vacation rentals.
"The Bus" is Oahu's reliable public transportation provider.
The Circle Island Route 52 does a round-trip from Ala Moana Shopping Center at approximate half hour intervals (less regularly during the middle of the day). A one-way ride from Ala Moana to the North Shore takes approximately 2 hours. The complete circle island ride (an excellent way to site-see the entire island!) takes 4 hours. The Bus really is about the cheapest tour you could ever take! A one-way fare, any distance, is just $2.

The North Shore is one of the least developed areas on O'ahu. Just the way we love it! So if you need to stock up on gas or supplies, remember that you'll need to do it at one of just a handful of places: Haleiwa Main Street (large variety of specialty stores, grocery stores, restaurants and diners), Foodland/Starbucks Pupukea (just past Waimea Bay, opposite the Fire Station); or the gas station and Ted's Bakery (drinks, plate lunch, famous pies) at Sunset Beach.
